Anyways, here's a repost of the funny storytime I posted 6 weeks ago

So from what I remembered it was around early 2018. I had an interest in animation memes but also was in the Polandball/Countryballs fandom, so it delighted me a lot when I found out people made animation memes regarding Countryballs considering it's pretty rare to see that- But this one small YouTuber caught my eye, a Russian animation memer who called themself (idk their pronouns sorry-) Splinus. They did do CB animation memes, but had a twist to them. Apparently they didn't want to animate the CBs as just balls because that would be kinda boring or smth, so they spiced it up by giving them anthropomorphic bodies, additional clothing and mouths.

This was their base form when it came to their CB memes for a while- Some other small YouTubers caught up with this and it became like a small thing in the Russian side of the AM community, but as time went on Splinus started labelling their AMs as "Not Countryballs" and way later to "Countryhumans." I remembered about Thomas Madiburr Trash too, where they started off having a similar idea to this but with less clothing and it wasn't labeled as Countryballs at first.

And from there the CH fandom grew, separated itself from CB, and this is where we are now. I recall Splinus planning to rename the whole thing to Freakland, giving everyone human names and changing up the designs they had at first, but idk if people caught up with that- Also both channels I've mentioned? While Thomas Madiburr became an active member of the community for a while, they and Splinus quit YT and unlisted all their videos.

So yeah this is the "funny story where I pretty much witnessed the birth of this fandom" I mentioned around two months ago- So in a sense I'm kind of a veteran around here? ;A; While I did do some fanart back in my day, I didn't do much tbh, because I was more focused on an OC series I had where it was around the same vein as CH, being about country personifications doing shenanigans. Funny enough that series of mine also took inspiration from Countryballs and was also named Countryhumans, except the word Countryhumans was written in another language as to not have this be confused with this CH we all know and love(?).
